Boyle seeded third
Mike Boyle is Cooperstown's only seeded wrestler for the Section Three Division II Tournament, which begins with preliminary matches at 10 a.m. Saturday at Onondaga Community College's SRC Arena.
Junior Boyle (22-10) is seeded third at 113 pounds for the Redskins. He trails No. 2 seed Ben Nastovski, a Dolgeville freshman who is 30-4, and top-seeded sophomore Laken Cook (32-5) of Ilion. Boyle is 1-3 against Nastovski this season and 0-1 against Cook. All of Boyle's matches against Nastovski went the distance. Cook pinned Boyle in 1 minute in their only meeting this season.
Cooperstown also will send unseeded wrestlers in freshmen Jacob Russell (99 pounds) and J.P. Gertz (285), and juniors Jacob Miller (138) and Kevin Segit (195).
Quarterfinals will begin at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, followed by semifinals at 1:30 p.m., wrestlebacks at 3:30 p.m., consolation finals at 6:15 p.m., and championships at 7 p.m.
Sectional champions and a select group of wild-card entrants will compete in the state tournament, which runs Feb. 24-25 at the Times-Union Center in Albany.

Section Four Tournament
Results were not available before The Daily Star's deadlines Friday night for the opening day of the Section Four Division II Wrestling Tournament at the Broome County Arena in Binghamton.
Weigh-ins for the second day of the tournament begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Arena.
Semifinal matches will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by wrestlebacks at 1 p.m.
The consolation finals are slated for 5 p.m. Saturday, with the championship matches scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
The Section Four D-II Tournament runs simultaneously with the Section Four D-I Tournament.
Sectional champions and select wild-card entrants will compete in the state tournament Feb. 24-25 in Albany.
