The All-American honors keep rolling in for Oneonta State.
One week after wrestlers Josh Wake and Chris Wade earned the honors, indoor track athletes Durell Cull and Lauren Brunetto duplicated the feat.
Cull, a junior, placed fourth in the 55-meter dash and Brunetto, a sophomore, finished sixth in the 800 to lead the Red Dragons at the NCAA Division III championships at DePauw University, Ill.
Cull ran the finals in 6.42 seconds. He qualified at the ECACs last weekend, crossing in 6.32.
Brunetto ran a personal-best 2:13.76 in the 800. She's the first O-State runner to earn All-American honors since Kaitlin O'Sullivan placed second in the 800 and fourth in the mile in 2007.
Women's Lacrosse
Hamilton 21, O-State 12
Rebecca Monteith had four goals, but host Oneonta dropped a non-conference game Sunday.
Molly McGroary contributed three goals and Rosemarie Fazio had a goal and two assists for the Red Dragons (4-1), who received a goal and an assist from Taylor Troyano.
O-State led, 7-6, in the first half, but the Continentals scored the game's next 11 goals to take control and open a 17-7 lead.
Rachel Friedman had four goals to lead Hamilton (1-0), which had a 44-24 advantage in shots.
O-State visits Vassar College at 6 p.m. Friday.
Men's Lacrosse
Hartwick 9, Scranton 6
Hartwick scored the game's first five goals and never trailed in a non-conference victory at home.
Joe Shields had three goals to lead Hartwick, which received a goal and an assist from Harry Hughes. Bobby Cassidy also had two goals.
Tom Srubinski contributed a goal and an assist for the Hawks (2-1), who had a 47-32 shot advantage. Ryan Twardowski made 10 saves for Hartwick, which visits Famingdale today.
Union 8, O-State 4
Blair Hanson scored twice in Oneonta State's home loss Saturday.
Ryan Waibel had a goal and an assist for the Red Dragons (2-1), who received goals from Jimmy van de Veerdonk and Scott Kellman.
O-State led, 3-2, in the second quarter, but Union took a 4-3 lead at halftime and outscored the Red Dragons, 4-1, in the second half.
Sean Reynolds made 15 saves for Oneonta, which got outshit, 36-32.
O-State hosts Rensselaer on Wednesday.
Cobleskill 13,
Anna Maria 9
Shane Francis had five goals and Pete Gonzalez a goal and five assists as visiting SUNY Cobleskill won a non-conference game.
Steve Hughes had two goals and two assists and Kevin Eipp two goals and an assist for the Fighting Tigers (1-2), who received two goals from Brian Murphy.
Men's Tennis
Middlebury 9, Oneonta 0
Will Sacco lost, 6-3, 6-4, at fourth singles and Oneonta State was swept in a non-conference match on the road Saturday.
O-State (4-3) visits Elmira on Saturday.
