Brittney Dumas’ college-bests of 21 points and 10 rebounds helped Hartwick College to a 62-44 Empire 8 Conference women’s basketball victory at Nazareth College on Friday.
Dumas made of 9 of 16 shots from the floor for the Hawks (8-3, 2-0), who outscored Nazareth (3-8, 0-1), 35-18, in the second half.
Maria Foglia and Lee Arduini had 10 points and four rebounds apiece for Hartwick. Foglia also had a game-high four assists to go along with three steals.
Hartwick led, 27-26, at halftime. The Hawks then started the second half on a 19-4 run to take a 46-30 lead.
Kate Purcell started the run with a three-pointer. Arduini then scored two straight baskets.
Following a Nazareth basket, Dumas and Foglia scored layups off a pair of steals. When Arduini hit a three with 13 minutes left, the Hawks lead swelled to 46-30.
Purcell finished with nine points, five rebounds and four steals.
Hartwick will travel to Houghton College at 4 p.m. Saturday.
