Bess Slicer and Vanessa Speenburgh led Jefferson to a 51-14 girls basketball victory over the host school in a first-round game of the Hunter-Tannersville Booster Club Tournament on Monday.
It marked the season-opener for both teams.
Slicer scored 16 points and Speenburgh contributed 15 for the J-Hawks, who bolted to a 21-6 halftime lead.
"They're very big," H-T coach Jeff Friedman said of Jefferson. "They definitely won the rebounding battle. Between solid defense and that rebounding advantage they just slowly but surely picked us apart."
Chelsea Martin and Alyssa Jonker chipped in eight points apiece for Jefferson, which will play Gilboa at 8 tonight in the title game. Gilboa defeated Stamford, 40-34, in the other first-round game.
Messages left at the home and cell phones of Gilboa coach David Hotzler were not returned Monday night.
Alex Natale had five points to lead H-T, which will play Stamford in the consolation game at 6:30 tonight.
