The Section Four Class D semifinals in girls soccer will be held at 2 p.m. today at the National Soccer Hall of Fame fields in Oneonta.
One semifinal is a rematch of the past two Section Four Class D championships as top-seeded Davenport (16-0-1) meets No. 4 Edmeston (13-4-1). The teams shared the sectional title last year before Edmeston advanced in penalty kicks en route to tying Seward in the state final.
In the other semifinal, Tri-Valley League champion Schenevus (15-1), the second seed, faces sixth-seeded Gilboa (13-4-1), which tied Davenport in the Delaware League final.
The Class D championship is scheduled for Saturday back at the Soccer Hall fields. No time has been announced.
In Class C, third-seeded Unatego (15-0-1) visits No. 2 Elmira Notre Dame at 2 p.m. The other semifinal features No. 4 Newark Valley (13-1-1) visiting top-seeded Marathon (13-2) at 2 p.m.
The Class C final is Saturday, at a time and location to be determined.
Boys play Wednesday
Section Four will hold its semifinals for boys soccer Wednesday, with five area teams playing.
Oneonta High (14-2-1), seeded second in Class B, will host sixth-seeded Dryden (12-3) at 2 p.m. at the Soccer Hall. No. 5 Watkins Glen (14-1-1) visits top-seeded Owego (13-2) at 2 p.m. in the other semifinal.
Delhi, which is seeded second in Class C and won its first sectional title last year, hosts No. 3 Greene at 2 p.m. at the Legion Fields in Delhi.
The second semifinal features No. 4 Spencer-Van Etten (10-4-2) at top-seeded Marathon (13-2).
The two Class D semifinals are at the Soccer Hall with gametimes scheduled for 2 p.m.
Top-seeded Cherry Valley-Springfield (17-0) meets fifth-seeded Morris (14-3-1) and No. 3 Candor (9-7) faces No. 2 Margaretville (15-0-1).
The championships for all three boys games will be Saturday at the Soccer Hall. Times will be determined at a later date.
