They've met in the Section Four Class D girls soccer final the last two years.
And they'll meet again at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the National Soccer Hall of Fame fields, but this time it'll be in a semifinal.
Top-seeded Davenport (16-0-1) and fourth-seeded Edmeston (13-4-1) won by shutout Friday, meaning the perennial powers will get to renew their rivalry.
"It seems like we play every year," Edmeston coach Melanie Mumbulo said after her team's 5-0 quarterfinal victory at home over 12th-seeded Andes. "I don't know if it's a rivalry. I just think there's mutual respect for each other's programs. As we always say, the road through sectionals leads through Davenport and they probably say the same thing about our team."
Davenport advanced with a 1-0 victory at home over ninth-seeded Milford.
"I said from the beginning of the year, we knew Schenevus would be good, but you can't count Edmeston out," Wildcats coach Ray Preston said. "They have Kori Hamm and have kids who have been there and made a good run through states. That experience pays off."
Davenport is unbeaten over its last 38 games. Its last loss came in the 2007 sectional final, a 2-0 loss to Edmeston.
Both teams entered last season's sectional final with 20-0 records. They played to a 0-0 tie through regulation and four overtimes before Edmeston won a penalty-kick shootout, 3-2, to advance to states.
The Panthers went on to earn a share of the state title after tying S.S. Seward, 2-2, in the final for the program's first state championship.
Lauren Hotaling's second-half goal lifted the Wildcats past Milford.
Hamm scored three goals and had one assist, and Ashley Harbison contributed two goals and an assist in Edmeston's victory over Andes.
Davenport 1, Milford 0
Hotaling scored with 37:04 remaining and Davenport held on for a victory over Milford.
"When I saw all the matchups I said, We have a tough draw,'" Preston said. "I would have almost rather played a different matchup. (Milford) played well and we played well. We moved some people around (in the second half). We made the adjustment and it worked."
Jackie Gilley started the sequence for the goal.
She had the ball on the left, beat a defender and sent the ball to the middle, where Sarah Haight one-touched a pass to Hotaling on the right side. Hotaling one-timed a shot over Milford goalie Mariah Coville.
It was Hotaling's fifth goal this season.
"Jackie really set that up," Preston said. "She drew a defender and pushed it over. It was well done _ a great job."
Brittany Chase made six saves for Davenport, which was outshot, 10-7.
"I saw them play early on and we scrimmaged them (in the beginning of the year)," Preston said of Milford. "I thought they moved the ball as well as any team we saw all year, so I was concerned. I am very proud of the effort everyone put in."
Preston said Milford made a late run and had an opportunity inside the final 10 minutes after a restart led to a scramble in front of Davenport's goal.
"Luckily, we got it out of there," he said. "They put pressure on us."
Coville made five saves for Milford, which finished 10-6-1.

Hamm set up the first goal with a short crossing pass to Harbison, who scored from close range 8 1/2 minutes into play. Harbison scored again four minutes later, settling a crossing pass from Emily Holdorf and scoring from the middle the penalty box.
Harbison has three goals and two assists in Edmeston's two sectional victories. She entered sectionals with two goals and four asssits on the season.
"Yes it is," Mumbulo said, when asked if it was encouraging to see Harbison's offensive production the past two games. "The last couple of games, she's putting more in the net. It's very nice to see that happening."
Hamm's first goal, off a pass from Morghen Axtell, made it 3-0 with 26 minutes left in the first half. She has an area-best 29 goals this season after scoring 42 last season, when she earned Daily Star and co-Class D state Player of the Year honors.
"We're finally starting to click," said Mumbulo, whose team enjoyed a 22-1 advantage in shots.

Courtney Palmisano snapped a scoreless tie with 7:35 remaining in the opening half as sixth-seeded Gilboa reached the semifinals for the first time in school history after a home victory.
Jessica Caputo, who assisted both goals, sent a crossing pass from the right wing into the box, where Palmisano one-timed her shot from 6 yards to the near post for a 1-0 lead.
Laura Potter finished the scoring with 18:28 remaining. Caputo again crossed from the right, Potter stopped the ball with her right foot and shot with her left to the left side from about 10 yards.
"It was actually a pretty good game all the way through," said Gilboa coach April Houghtaling, whose team earned a 2-2 tie with top-seeded Davenport in the Delaware League final Sunday at the National Soccer Hall of Fame fields. "There was a lot of play in the midfield. We kind of stepped it up in the second half a little better, getting the possession and keeping it."
Brooke Koerner made three saves for the Wildcats (13-4-1), who will meet No. 2 Schenevus in a semifinal at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Soccer Hall.
"This is a huge step," Houghtaling said of reaching the semis.
Laurens (5-12), the 14th seed, shocked third-seeded Cherry Valley-Springfield, 1-0, Tuesday in a first-round game. The Leopards were outshot, 12-3. They received six saves from Ali Robbins.

Schenevus 1, Margaretville 0
Mikayla Bookhout's goal midway through the first half stood up as second-seeded Schenevus earned its 15th shutout of the season in a Class D quarterfinal at home.
Jessica Bentley's crossing pass from the right side found the head of Bookhout 6 yards from the goal. With Margaretville goalie Megan McKenna protecting the near post, Bookhout scored to the middle of the goal.
The Dragons (15-1) had a 5-3 advantage in shots.
"It wasn't pretty," said Schenevus coach Stephanie Banks, whose team has allowed two goals this season. "Margaretville definitely came to play. (McKenna) did a nice job. She came out and cut off a lot of balls we normally would have been in on and finished."
McKenna finished with three saves for the 10th-seeded Blue Devils (9-8).
Banks said Margaretville's top scorer, Erica Faulkner (19 goals, eight assists), started at sweeper, moved to center-midfield and eventually to striker.
"We knew we had to keep a close eye on her," Banks said.
Catherine Hernandez made three saves for the Dragons, who meet sixth-seeded Gilboa at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the National Soccer Hall of Fame fields in a semifinal. Both teams earned league titles Sunday at the Soccer Hall. Gilboa tied Davenport, 2-2, in the Delaware League final and Schenevus beat Edmeston, 1-0, in the Tri-Valley League title game.
"We have to bring our A game," Banks said.
