Collin Izard had a goal and two assists, and host Unadilla Valley defeated Afton, 4-1, Wednesday in a Midstate Athletic Conference boys soccer game.
Izard scored from 6 yards after receiving a diagonal throughball from Dylan Thompson to make it 1-0 seven minutes into play. Three minutes later, David Schwab scored from close range off a pass from Izard as the Storm took a two-goal lead.
Zach Montgomery and Brett Smith also scored for Unadilla Valley (2-5-1, 2-2-1), which travels to Unatego on Friday.
Josh Akshar scored for the Crimson Knights.

Walton's Ben Conklin and Unatego's Derek Joyce exchanged first-half goals as the Midstate Athletic Conference squads played to a tie at Unatego.
Conklin controlled a loose ball deep in the penalty area and scored to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead five minutes into play.
Joyce answered six minutes later. Johnathan Forte crossed a pass into the box that eventually found its way to Joyce, who scored from 6 yards.
Walton's Dalton Walley and counterpart Alex White made 12 and nine saves, respectively.
"On both ends, there were a couple of breakaways," Unatego coach Eric Miller said. "Joyce and Conklin are extremely fast and both sides escaped a few times. Overall, there was excellent goalie play and it was physical all-around for both sides."
The Spartans (3-0-1, 2-0-1) play host to Unadilla Valley on Friday.

Griff Metzko, Ty Magnan and Cody Burns also scored for the Rams, who play Worcester in a first-round game of the Chic Walshe Tournament at 2 p.m. Saturday at Davenport.

Second-half goals by Justin Schaffer, Matt Morlock and Josh Rutherford led visiting Morris to a Tri-Valley League victory Tuesday.
Schaffer scored with 32 minutes left to make it 1-0. Rutherford's goal came 10 minutes later.
In Morris' 6-2 victory at Schenevus on Monday, Rutherford, Matt Deluca and Schaffer had two goals apiece, and Morlock had one assist. The statistics were reported incorrectly.
Laurens (0-5-1, 0-4) travels to Cherry Valley-Springfield today.

50TH ANNUAL GENERAL CLINTON CANOE REGATTA ... He's not just coming back for a free meal, although Serge Corbin will get one during his return to the General Clinton Canoe Regatta. Two days after his first-class Clinton Hall of Fame induction and dinner Saturday, 28-time C-2 Pro Class champion Corbin will compete in the 70-miler from Cooperstown to Bainbridge for the first time since 2005.

OHS' Kelby advances to states
HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP ... Forgive Oneonta High sophomore Emerson Kelby if he's feeling a little flushed. After beating Andy Hsu of Ithaca and Keith Jensen of Binghamton in straight sets Friday in the Section Four State Qualifier at the Binghamton Tennis Center, Kelby earned a spot in the New York State High School Championships that start at 1 p.m. Thursday at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing.

HIGH SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD _ SECTION FOUR CLASS MEETS ... Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton's boys and Walton's girls each finished second Thursday in the Section Four Class C Track and Field Championships at Greene. The Bears had 74 points _ five behind winner Trumansburg. The Blue Devils won the girls team title, too, with 92 points _ 43 ahead of Walton.
