Oneonta State’s women went 1-for-14 from three-point range en route to a 61-51 non-conference basketball loss to visiting University of Rochester on Wednesday.
The Red Dragons (4-4) missed 40 of their 63 shots from the field.
Kristin Pappalardo hit O-State’s lone three-pointer with 2 minutes, 6 seconds remaining to pull the Red Dragons to six points, but Rochester (6-1) went 9-for-10 from the free throw line thereafter to seal it.
The largest deficit faced by O-State was 18 points in the first half. But a Red Dragons defense that forced 23 turnovers kept O-State competitive. O-State turned those turnovers into 25 points.
Freshman Lyteshia Price led O-State with 12 points _ all coming in the first half.
Sophomore Ally Zywicki led Rochester with 23 points _ 16 coming from the first half. She shot 5-for-5 from three-point range.
Pappalardo and Kelly Mulligan had nine and eight points, respectively, for O-State, which will host Geneseo on Friday.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Cobleskill 87, Green Mt. 73
Junior Mike Marcelin had 24 points and seven rebounds to lead visiting SUNY Cobleskill to a non-conference victory Tuesday.
Tyrone Mitchell and Kareem Bernard contributed 21 and 14 points, respectively, for the Fighting Tigers, who led, 36-34, at halftime before opening the second half on a 7-0 run.
Jack Jeffres finished with 11 points and nine rebounds for Cobleskill (2-7), which will host Keuka College at 3 p.m.

EQUESTRIAN
Skidmore Show
Michelle Litterio and Emily Rogers earned wins for SUNY Cobleskill in the Skidmore Show on Saturday.
Litterio won novice over fences and Rogers placed first in walk/trot/canter.
The Fighting Tigers, who placed fifth, will next compete Feb. 16 in an IHSA Show at Skidmore.
