Junior forward Will Davis finished with 15 points and six rebounds Thursday, but the SUNY Cobleskill men’s basketball team suffered a 75-66 non-conference loss to visiting Skidmore College.
Classmate Mike Marcelin contributed 14 points and two blocks for the Fighting Tigers (1-6), who received 10 points from Kareem Bernard.
Freshman guard Tanner Brooks had a game-high 18 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals for the Thoroughbreds (4-1), who received 16 points from classmate Aldin Medunjanin. Connor Merrill contributed 13 points, Kevin Dahill had 12, and 10 rebounds from Sakhile Sithole.
Cobleskill, which trailed, 36-33, at halftime, visits Union College at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Skidmore plays at Oneonta State at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
O-State honored
Oneonta State earned its first Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, the Red Dragons announced Thursday.
O-State was one of 497 women’s teams – from all divisions across the country – to be recognized for having a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or better.
The Red Dragons went 12-7-1 overall and 7-2 in the SUNY Athletic Conference this past fall.
