OBGC to host lacrosse on Mondays
LacrosseOneonta will run its winter session at the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club on Mondays through Jan. 24.
Boys and girls in grades 3-7 will play from 5-7 p.m., followed by grades 8-12 from 7-9 p.m.
Participants must be OBGC members. The program is free. A limited amount of extra equipment is available for beginners.

Hall to host celebration Dec. 11
The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown will host its annual Holiday Celebration on Dec. 11.
The event will be highlighted by a holiday concert in the Plaque Gallery. The Pathfinder Village Hand Bell Choir will perform at 2 p.m., followed by Oneonta State's Hooked on Tonics A Capella group at 3 p.m.
The Hall's Autumn Glory exhibit will be open as well. The display was recently updated with artifacts from the 2010 World Series, including the bat used by Series MVP Edgar Renteria in Game 5.
Museum visitors will receive free admission Dec. 11 with the donation of at least two non-perishable food items. All donations support the Cooperstown Food Bank and Opportunities for Otsego.

Soccer referees to meet Dec. 12
A general interest meeting for those who wish to referee USSF soccer matches is set for 1-2 p.m. Dec. 12 in Oneonta.

Frostbite 5K set for Dec. 31
The Oneonta Family YMCA is accepting pre-registrations for its annual Frostbite 5K, which will start at 1 p.m. Dec. 31.
Applications are available at Sport Tech in Oneonta, the Oneonta Family YMCA or by contacting Kelly Morrissey at kmorrissey@oneontaymca.org or 607-432-0010.
Pre-registrations must be submitted by Dec. 15 to guarantee a shirt.
Race-day registrations will run from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Dec. 31. The race begins across from the Sidney Federal Credit Union on Market Street and ends at the YMCA.
Colin Eustis of Delhi won last year's race in a record time of 15 minutes, 8.4 seconds.
Amanda LoPiccolo of Oneonta won her ninth Frostbite 5K women's title last year in 18:57.3.
LoPiccolo went on to become the first local women's champion in the Pit Run 10K this past October in Oneonta.
Baseball club accepting registrations
The Stamford Blue Jays are accepting registration for its new 14U baseball team.
Players born after April 30, 1996 may join. Players must travel to local games and out-of-town tournaments.
The club also will host a high school exhibition series near Cooperstown in late April, as well as three-game summer tournaments for players ages 13-18.
