Morris ties Schenevus on late goal

Staff Report

---- —

Corey Forgit scored on a direct kick from about 20 yards with 2 minutes, 38 seconds remaining as host Morris tied Schenevus, 1-1, in Tri-Valley League boys soccer Tuesday.

The Mustangs had a 19-3 advantage in shots.

"We had plenty of chances _ quite a few," Morris coach Dave Sander said. "We're not capitalizing. (Schenevus') Mike Miner is a good keeper. He had a couple of good saves."

Miner finished with six saves.

Forgit scored his tying goal from the left side, shooting to the far post.

The Dragons (0-1-2, 0-0-2) opened the scoring with 22:57 remaining in regulation. David Vosatka dribbled past a defender on the right side and beat Morris goalie Kerry Smith on a high shot to the near post.

"He has a nice strike on it," Sander said.

Schenevus had a chance to win it with about 20 seconds remaining, but Pat Weinert's header off a corner kick hit the crossbar.
