Jamestown Invitational
SUNY Delhi cruised to the men’s swimming and diving team title during the Jamestown Community College Invitational on Saturday.
Matthew Salle, Mike Roeland and Kenny Calamari earned individual victories for the Broncos (23-1), who finished with 367 points. Jamestown placed second at 278, followed by Alfred State (155) and Mercyhurst NE (27).
Salle won the 1-meter dive with 275.20 points. He also joined Calamari, Roeland and anchor Shane Blundell for a 200-yard medley relay victory in 1:51.83.
Calamari placed first in the 100 backstroke (1:02.53), as did Roeland in the 100 butterfly (1:03.73).
Delhi’s women finished third out of three teams, with 162 points. Jamestown won with 427 points, followed by Mercyhurst NE at 203.
Paris Matteo (1-meter dive), Megan Cusack (100 backstroke) and Lily McEnaney (100 buterfly, 100 breaststroke) had runner-up finishes to pace the Broncos, who will return to Jamestown on Jan. 26.
