O-State to host rival today
Oneonta State’s basketball teams will host SUNY Athletic Conference rival Cortland in the annual Battle of the Red Dragons today at Alumni Field House.
O-State’s women will play Cortland at 6 p.m., followed by the men at 8 p.m.
Oneonta alumni are invited to a dinner buffet at 5 p.m. Cost is $14 and registration is required.

Delhi sets pool hours
SUNY Delhi’s pool will be open from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The pool also will be open from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
Little League sign-ups Saturday
Catskill Mountain Little League will hold sign-ups from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at the Robinson Terrace meeting room in Stamford.
Players must be ages 4-12 as of May 1, 2013. Original birth certificate and three proofs of residency are required at sign-ups.

Ice fishing clinic set for Saturday
The Otsego County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs, Otschodela Council BSA and NYSDEC are co-sponsoring a free Ice Fishing Clinic at Henderson Scout Reservation on Crumhorn Lake from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
This event is geared towards kids and those who are new to the sport. Species available include sunfish, pickerel, crappie and perch.
A warming area, food, bait and some tackle will be provided. Some tackle will be available.

Pitching camp starts Sunday
The 2013 Oneonta Pitching Camp for girls ages 8-18 will run consecutive Sundays from Jan. 27-March 3 at the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club.
Session I is for advanced pitchers, Session II is for intermediate and Session III is for beginners. There are limited openings for Session I, which runs from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and costs $200. Pitchers must possess the basic fundamentals and mechanics of windmill pitching.
Sessions II and III are $85 each. Session II runs from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and Session III runs from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

O-State to host baseball clinics
Oneonta State will host two high school baseball clinics at Alumni Field House this winter.
The Red Dragons will hold a pitchers/catchers clinic Sunday and a hitting/defense clinic Feb. 3. Registration for both runs from 11:15 a.m.-noon, followed by the clinic from noon-3 p.m.
Cost is $35 per camper for one clinic or $60 per camper for both. The clinics are designed for high school players who will graduate during the 2013-2016 time period.

Umpires to hold meeting Sunday
Local chapters of the Schohanna Board of Baseball/Softball Umpires will hold their first business meeting of the season at 10 a.m. Sunday in Lecture Hall 1 of Oneonta State’s IRC Building.
Anyone interested in becoming an umpire for the upcoming high school/summer seasons should attend.
