Unatego graduate Travis Woods, a freshman forward, had 13 points and eight rebounds to help SUNY Cobleskill’s men to an 89-69 North Eastern Athletic Conference basketball victory over visiting Cazenovia on Wednesday.
Reserve forward Will Davis contributed 24 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Fighting Tigers (3-9), who improved to 1-2 in the NEAC.
Alexis Nunez and Mike Marcelin contributed 10 points apiece. Nunez also had 10 assists for Cobleskill, which shot 21-for-32 from the floor in the second half.
The Wildcats (4-7, 2-2) were led by Meech Drayton, who had 18 points and 11 rebounds.
The Fighting Tigers will host Penn State Berks at 3 p.m. Sunday.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Cobleskill 57, Cazenovia 51
Kady Porterfield and Tracee Schiebel scored 17 and 16 points, respectively, and both grabbed 10 rebounds to lead host SUNY Cobleskill to a North Eastern Athletic Conference victory.
The victory snapped an eight-game skid.
The Fighting Tigers (2-8, 1-2) took the lead for good on a 15-foot jumper by Rebekah Johnson with 3 minutes, 1 second left.
Heidi Anderson had 11 points, and Alexis Hauser contributed seven points and nine assists for the Fighting Tigers, who’ll play Wilson College at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Erin O’Malley had 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead Cazenovia (2-10, 2-2). South Kortright graduate Courtenay Chambers had one rebound in nine minutes for the Wildcats.
