CV-S girls win at Edmeston

STAFF REPORT

Olivia Hull scored a game-high 14 points to lead Cherry Valley-Springfield to a 44-38 Tri-Valley League girls basketball victory at Edmeston on Wednesday.

Lauren Loucks contributed 12 for the Patriots.

Edmeston (4-5, 1-4) received 13 points from Sydney Smith and 10 from Katlin Talbot.

The Panthers host Laurens on Friday.

Morris 43, G-MU 27

Kelsea Webster and Haley Wist scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Morris (6-1, 5-0) which coasted to a Tri-Valley Leauge road win.

Gilbertsville-Mount Upton (3-5, 2-3) was paced by Jenn Mason’s eight points.

The Raiders next host Franklin on Friday.

Schenevus 58, RS 20

Sarah Mellor scored 20 points for host Schenevus, which cruised to a win in the Tri-Valley League.

Taylor Spranger contributed 12 points for the Dragons, who led, 29-5, at the half.

Schenevus (3-3, 3-2) hosts Milford on Friday.

Richfield Springs’ top scorer, Jerikah Hext, had 11 points.

Greene 48, Walton 17

Cierra Stoppkotte and Jessica David scored 11 points each to lead Greene to a road win in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

Cortney Miller scored eight points to lead Walton (2-7. 0-5), which hosts Bainbridge-Guilford on Friday.

Milford 34, Worcester 27

Addy Lawson scored 16 and had 13 rebounds as Milford won on the road in the Tri-Valley League.

Marina Steele scored 10 points for Milford.

Cassie Sklenka and Jillian Perrillo scored seven points each to lead Worcester (4-3, 2-3), which is at Cherry Valley-Springfield on Friday.

Harpursville 79, Oxford 38

Miranda Drummond scored her season-high of 31 points as Harpursville stayed undefeated by winning a Midstate Athletic Conference game at home.

The Hornets scored the game’s first 20 points and led, 23-3, after one quarter.

Drummond and Savannah Murray scored nine points each in first quarter, including three three-point baskets by Murray.

Murray and Drummond each had four three-point baskets in the game.

Megan Golden scored 14 points to lead Oxford.

Harpursville (8-0, 5-0) is at Unatego on Friday.

B-G 52, Deposit 26

 Morgan Bullis had 18 points and 14 rebounds to lead host Bainbridge-Guilford in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

 Bullis scored 14 points in the first half, which ended with the Bobcats up, 29-11. 

 Abbey Smith contributed nine points and five steals for B-G (5-5, 3-2), which will play at Walton on Friday.

 Unatego 46, Delhi 9

Casey Manzanero led Unatego with 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Spartans cruised in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

Sarah Mannina scored seven points as Unatego opened a 15-0 lead in the first quarter. Mannina also had seven assists.

Robin Foster had nine points and eight rebounds for Unatego (6-2, 4-0), which will travel to Harpursville at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Cooperstown 61, Sauquoit Valley 23

Cooperstown’s Elizabeth Millea scored 13 points and had seven steals in the Redskins’ Center State Conference home victory.

Sumer Murdock contributed a game-high 18 points.  She scored eight in the first quarter, which ended with Cooperstown leading, 14-0.

Nicole Cring contributed 11 for the Redskins (8-1, 4-0), who will play at Sherburne-Earlville on Friday.  

Next up for Cooperstown is a road game against Sherburne-Earlville.

 BOWLING

at Laurel Bowl

Amy Hait and Abigail Loucks had 564 and 554 series, respectively, but Oneonta High’s girls lost, 4-1, to Johnson City in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference.

Hait had a high game of 209. Loucks rolled a 191 and Emily Loucks had 224 game.

Oneonta High’s boys lost, 5-0. Chris Hamilton led the Yellowjackets with a 526 series that included a 205 game.

The Yellowjackets will travel to Sunset Lanes to face Windsor on Tuesday.

at 20th Century Lanes

Sidney girls beat Greene, 3-1, but Greene’s boys beat Sidney by the same margin in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

Zach Nages had a 612 series to lead Sidney’s boys.

Marina Mazzarella had a 528 series to lead the Warriors’ girls.

Sidney hosts Bainbridge-Guilford on Friday.
