Laurens' suddenly resurgent boys soccer team will enter the Section Four Class D playoffs on a five-game unbeaten streak after downing visiting Frankln, 4-2, Monday.
Carter Powers, Jacob Nack, Ryan Crean and Ryan Holmes scored for the Leopards (6-7-2, 6-6-1), who started the season 0-6-1.
"There's a lot of juniors on this team and not a lot of experience," Laurens coach Dave Miller said of his team's slow start. "I think it's just that they're playing together and getting game experience. They're getting used to playing soccer with each other and knowing where people are."
Franklin took a 2-1 lead on Derek Beers' goal at the 16-minute mark of the second half.
Holmes tied the score at 2 off an assist from Josiah Wenck three minutes later. Then Crean scored the go-ahead goal a minute later. Crean finished a pass from Nack. Powers capped the scoring with seven minutes left on his first varsity goal.
Alex Brownell also scored for Franklin.
"We've had a really productive second half of the season," said Miller, whose team is 4-0-1 in its last five games. "We'll throw our hat into the sectional pool and see what happens. We played close with (Tri-Valley League crossover finalists) Morris and Cherry Valley-Springfield when we saw them last and those teams are tops in the league. If we can play competitive with those guys, we can be competitive with any team."
