Cherry Valley-Springfield's rollercoaster girls soccer season seems to be on an upswing as the Patriots improved their unbeaten streak to four games Thursday with a 1-0 Tri-Valley League defeat of visiting Schenevus.
"We're finally finding our groove," said CV-S coach Amy Garretson, whose 6-5-1 team is 3-0-1 in its last four games. "We're really coming into our own right now. We're starting to find the net and coming together at the right time."
Chelsea Zembower scored about 21 minutes into the first half, chesting in Jane Auld's header to the far post. Auld's pass came off of a corner kick to the near post.
"The rest of the game was pretty much back-and-forth," Garretson said. "Kylie Graham had a lot of nice saves for us."
Graham matched Schenevus counterpart Taylor Spranger with eight saves.
The Patriots, whose streak includes a scoreless tie against reigning T-V and Section Four Class D champion Milford, visit Edmeston today.
