Jonathan Kowalski scored his second goal of the season Friday to lead host Oneonta State to a 2-1 SUNY Athletic Conference victory over Fredonia.
Kowalski took a drop pass from Dan Josepher and drove a shot to the upper-right corner in the 82nd minute to snap a 1-all tie. It marked Josepher's second assist of the season.
Fredonia (2-6, 1-1) tied the score in the 78th minute on a goal by Jack Flechaus.
O-State (4-2-2, 1-1) opened the scoring in the 11th minute on a goal by Jeff Christian. The play started with a short corner kick by Dan Scott, who earned his team-leading fifth assist of the season. Christian beat Bobby McGinnis on a shot inside the left post.
Max Siegelman made four saves for O-State, which was outshot, 9-5.
The Red Dragons host Buffalo State at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Dana DeSimone scored the winner with 26 seconds left in overtime to give the Red Dragons a SUNYAC road victory.
DeSimone took a pass from Nha Wright, drew goalie Kayleigh Forger out of the box and lofted a shot over her into the goal.
Oneonta State (5-2, 2-0) took a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute. Melissa Guglielmo scored on a high shot from 35 yards. Fredonia (4-4, 0-2) tied the score in the 32nd minute, when Taylor Winderden beat goalie Amy Lusby on a breakaway.
Forger had nine saves _ two more than Lusby. O-State held a 27-20 advantage in shots and took six corner kicks to Fredonia's three.
The Red Dragons travel to Buffalo State at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

SUNY Cobleskill freshman Victor Ralbovsky shot a 76 _ his college-best _ to place fifth Thursday during the MCLA Invitational at the par-71 Waubeeka Golf Links in Williamstown, Mass.
Cobeskill finished last in the four-team event at 325. MCLA won at 309.
The Fighting Tigers are off until Oct. 2, when they will compete in the Sage College Invitational.

Christina Fabiochi had a team-best 12 kills in a 21-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-15 loss to the tournament host. Kelsey Klopfer contributed 18 assists and 12 digs.
Klopfer followed with 11 assists and 10 digs in a 25-13, 25-14, 25-19 loss to New Paltz. Jessica Zerega paced the defense with 15 digs.
The Red Dragons continue pool play Saturday with matches against Potsdam at noon and Plattsburgh at 2 p.m.

SUNY Cobleskill snapped a seven-match skid with a 25-17, 25-14, 22-25, 25-15 non-conference victory at Castleton State (2-5) on Thursday.
Senior setter/libero Krista Grady had 16 assists and 14 digs to lead the Fighting Tigers (4-7), who received seven kills apiece from Brooke Burke, Elizabeth Stap and Maggie Trombly.
Trombly contributed a team-high 18 digs and Nancy Stephens had 17 digs for Cobleskill, which received six aces from Megan Leonard.

O-State Hall of Fame
Oneonta State will induct five individuals and one team into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 23 at Alumni Field House.
A buffet breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m., with the 2010 Induction Ceremony to follow at 10 a.m. inside of Dewar Arena.
Brendan Heslin (Baseball, Class of 2002); Allecia Laing (Soccer, 2001); Jim Baker (Coach); Richard Burr (Honorary, 1962); and Robert Jones (Swimming, 1972) make up Oneonta's Class of 2010. The Red Dragons' 1966-67 men's swimming team will receive the Team of Distinction award as well.

Cross Country
Bainbridge-Guilford graduate Chris Burnett earned NJCAA Region III male co-athlete of the week honors, SUNY Delhi announced Friday.
Burnett finished fourth out of 288 runners last Saturday at Oneonta State's Airfield Invitational in Fortin Park. The top freshman and junior college runner at the meet, Burnett's time of 25:08 set an 8-kilometer program record.
Burnett shared the award with Steve Rathbun, who scored three goals in back-to-back games for the Broome Community College men's soccer team.
Athletes of the week
SUNY Delhi named Tom Garby and Kristin Tucker its athletes of the week.
Garby placed second out of 51 golfers at the Kisor Classic at Ohio Dominican University this past weekend. He shot a 145 (76-69) to help the Broncos place third.
Tucker helped Delhi volleyball to a 6-1 mark this past week with 156 assists, 19 aces, 37 digs and five kills. She also earned NJCAA Division III Player of the Week honors.
