Davenport boys get a boost from Reynolds in DL win

Garrett Reynolds hit three three-pointers en route to a team-best 21 points as host Davenport beat Margaretville, 52-39, in a Delaware League boys basketball game Thursday.

Reynolds went 9-for-16 from the floor, including a 3-for-6 effort from three-point range. Kyle Wamsley contributed 11 rebounds for the Wildcats (11-3, 9-2), who received eight points and eight rebounds from Mitchell Fisher.

"It was a good team effort without Robert (Meyerhoff) in there," Davenport coach Lee Fisher said of his injured team scoring leader, who hurt his right knee in a 45-42 win at Stamford on Tuesday. "I think it's best for him to get an MRI because it's good to know what's what."

Fisher added there is no timetable for the return of senior forward Meyerhoff, who is averaging more than 17 points this season.

Mitch Hull scored a game-high 29 points to pace the Blue Devils, who faced a 27-17 deficit at halftime. Hull hit 12 field goals and went 5-for-8 from the foul line.

Davenport will host Morris in a non-league game Wednesday.
