Outlaws rout Albany; nip Hawkeyes

The Oneonta Outlaws received 7 2/3 innings of six-hit pitching from Brett Lisle and three hits _ including a home run to left-center in the third inning _ from Shane Crain en route to a 10-4 Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League victory at Albany on Sunday.

Lisle (1-1) allowed three earned runs and struck out four.

The Outlaws scored twice in the first and had three more runs in the third off of losing pitcher Austin Chase, who allowed 10 hits over five innings.

Logan Brown also had three hits for Oneonta, which received a triple and a single from Zac Johnson.

The Outlaws (5-3) host Glens Falls at 7 tonight.

Also in the PGCBL on Sunday, Cooperstown fell, 3-2, at Elmira. It marked the Pioneers' first win in nine games this season.

No other details were available at press time.

The Hawkeyes (3-4) host Elmira today. They'll finish a game suspended game from June 7, which is tied at 1 in the third, at 2 p.m. before playing their regularly scheduled game at 5 p.m.

SATURDAY'S GAME

Outlaws 4, Hawkeyes 3

Zach Lucas led off the bottom of the 10th with a triple to right field and scored the winning run on a single by Lucas Leifield in leading the Outlaws on Saturday at Damaschke Field.

Following Lucas' triple, Cooperstown intentionally walked Zac Johnson and Clay Holcomb before Leifield hit the winning single to center. Oneonta starter Nathaniel Abel allowed two runs in seven innings.

Cooperstown tied it at 3 in the eighth, when Jacob Hubert singled with one out, stole second, went to third on a throwing error by catcher Leifield and scored on a wild pitch by Jeremy Rhoades.

Oneonta took a 3-1 lead in the fourth on Orlando Rivera's two-run double to right.

Logan Brown, Lucas and Leifeild had two hits apiece for Oneonta, which snapped a three-game skid.

Hubert and Bradley Vanderglas had three hits apiece for the Hawkeyes. Cooperstown graduate Kyle Liner, who attends Binghamton University, went 0-for-4 for the Hawkeyes.
