Errors cost Outlaws; Hawkeyes win

Glens Falls took advantage of five errors and erased a five-run deficit to beat visiting Oneonta, 10-6, Friday in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League game.

The Golden Eagles scored five runs in the sixth inning to take a 10-6 lead. Losing pitcher Sam Johnson allowed four runs in the sixth, retiring two batters.

The Outlaws, who led, 5-0, heading into the bottom of the third inning, scored five runs off of starter Nick Pivetta through three innings, but four relievers limited Oneonta to one run over the final six innings.

Zach Lucas hit a two-run homer in the first inning for the Outlaws, who received a triple from Omar Garcia.

Oneonta (3-3) will play Cooperstown at 7 p.m. Saturday at Damaschke Field.

Cooperstown 9, Watertown 3

Quinn Pippin and Jacob Hubert each went 3-for-4 and combined to score five runs in the Hawkeyes' road victory in the PGCBL.

Cooperstown (3-2) benefitted from four Watertown errors.

James Norwood (1-0) struck out four and allowed two runs over five innings for Cooperstown. Josh Anderson threw a scoreless sixth and Andrew Grann allowed one run over the final three innings.
