Summer swim program opens Monday

SUNY Delhi's summer swim program for children and adults begins Monday.

Community lessons will run from 9 a.m.-noon in the Kunsela Hall pool. Classes include American Red Cross Levels I-VI, Basic Water Rescue, infant/toddler/preschoolers program and a Level VI diving class. Swim team practice also is available.

Village/town residents of Delhi, Bovina and Meredith should contact their respective village clerk to register for free enrollment. Proof of residency is required.

Town of Hamden residents should contact their town or village clerk to register for one three-week session, with a cost of $10 per child payable to Hamden Town Clerk. Proof of residency is required.

Those who are not residents of Bovina, Delhi, Hamden or Meredith may participate at a cost of $45 per person for each session.

SUNY Delhi also will host water aerobics classes from 4:15-5:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays during the summer at a cost of $45 per person.

The rest of the summer schedule is as follows: Monday-Friday: Swim practice, noon-1 p.m.; lap swim 1-1:30 p.m.; open swim, 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Daily use fee is $3 per child, $4 per senior and $5 per adult. Pool passes are available.

Wrestling camp starts June 26

Ken Chertow Wrestling's Gold Medal Training Camp System will run from June 26-30 at Oneonta State.

The camp will offer personalized instruction for wrestlers of all ages.

Bowhunter course runs June 27-28

The Davenport Fire Department will host a New York State Bowhunter Education Course from 5:30-9:30 p.m. June 27-28.

OBGC to host basketball camp

The Oneonta Boys and Girls Club will host a basketball camp July 1-3 for children in grades Kindergarten to 11.

The cost of the camp is $50 and includes a T-shirt and a basketball.

Children in grades K-5 will meet from 3:30-6 p.m. July 1 and from 8:30-11 a.m. July 2-3. Those in grades 6-11 will meet from 6:30-9 p.m. July 1 and from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. July 2-3.

Presbyterian golf tournament July 7

Colonial Ridge Golf in Laurens will host the 12th annual Gilbertsville Presbyterian Church Golf Tournament on July 7.

Tournament registration will run before the 8 a.m. tee time. The captain-and-crew tournament is open to the public.

Basketball in Delhi starts July 7

The Delaware County Community Action Network will hold its annual Bald Eagle basketball skills clinic and tournament from 4-6:30 p.m. Saturdays from July 7-Aug. 11 at Delhi's Clark Court.

Players ages 16 and younger are invited to play. Tournament teams will be selected from the pool of participants.

O-State basketball camp July 9-13

Oneonta State will host the Red Dragon Basketball Camp from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 9-13.

The camp is for boys and girls ages 6-17. Cost is $155 per camper and includes a T-shirt and a string bag.
