Area golf pros earn top-10 finishes

Two area golf professionals finished in the money Tuesday after the second and final round of the 64th Northeastern New York PGA Section's Stroke Play Championship at The Edison Club in Rexford.

Windham Country Club's Brian Lowe and Robert Meheran of the Cobleskill Golf and Country Club tied for ninth place in the 33-player field at 148. Each shot 74s in the first and second rounds en route to a $350 prize.

The top 12 finishers earned money. Josh Hillman of Berkshire Hills Country Club won $2,200 for a first place. He followed a tournament-low 68 on Monday with a 72 on Tuesday for 140 strokes, beating Wyantenuck CC's Tom Sullivan by three strokes. Sullivan shot 70-73 and won $1,800 for second place.

Jeremy Kerr of the Oneonta Country Club shot a 151 (74-77) to finish in a three-way tie for 13th.

Lowe also earned $85.71 for winning a skin on the 15th hole.

Tournament results were not released by the NENY PGA until Wednesday because of communication problems at the source.
