Hartwick College scored one goal in each period Saturday to win its sixth consecutive women's water polo game as the 16th-ranked Hawks earned a 4-3 victory at No. 15 Indiana.
Ellen Sevigny opened the scoring 1 minute, 30 seconds into Indiana's home opener with her 32nd goal of the season for Hartwick (12-7). Two minutes later, Brooke Zimmerman converted a man-up opportunity to tie it, but the Hoosiers (10-12) failed to score again until the fourth quarter.
Lisa Gibson's first collegiate goal gave Hartwick the lead for good with 1:30 to go before the half, beating Indiana keeper Katie Carson on a deep shot just before the shot-clock buzzer for a 2-1 advantage. Jessica McKee then scored 50 seconds into the third quarter, and Kaitlin Leonard capped the Hawks' offensive output two minutes into the final period for a 4-1 cushion.
Indiana scored twice after calling a timeout with two minutes to go. Zimmerman pulled the Hoosiers within 4-2 before Nicole Redder finished the scoring with 16 seconds left. The Hawks then ran out the clock to avenge an 11-8 setback to Indiana on March 2 at College Park, Md.
Hartwick, which improved to 2-1 against the Hoosiers this season, matched a school record for fewest goals in a victory. The Hawks downed Brown, 4-3 in overtime, on April 13, 2003.
Hartwick goalie Jessica Dorman, who entered the weekend ranked fourth in the nation in saves, stopped 12 shots in the victory. Carson finished with a college-best 16 saves.
The Hawks will play at 12th-ranked Michigan at 7 p.m. today. The Wolverines beat Hartwick, 10-6, on March 1.
Men's Lacrosse

Freshman Vito DeMola scored three times for the host Hawks, who rallied from a 6-3 deficit early in the third quarter for an Empire 8 Conference victory at Wright Stadium.
Hartwick (3-3, 1-1), which snapped a three-game skid, started its comeback when Mike Robustello converted a man-up opportunity with 5:06 to play in the third period.
Less then four minutes later, Brendan Hamel scored his first goal of the season to pull the Hawks within 6-5.
DeMola tied the score 57 seconds into the fourth quarter, then put the Hawks ahead to stay with 4:52 left. Chris Vogler, who scored twice, had the decisive goal with 2:02 to play, giving Hartwick an 8-6 lead.
Dave Malone scored at the buzzer for the Cardinals (6-1, 1-1), who won their three previous games against Hartwick. The two teams entered halftime in a 3-3 deadlock before Fisher scored the first three goals of the second half.
John Meade made 11 saves for Hartwick. Jon Cortina made five saves for the Cardinals, who got two more from back-up Dan Serafine. He started the second half in goal for Fisher and took the loss.
Hartwick hosts Stevens Tech at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Wright Stadium. The game will mark their first meeting in men's lacrosse.

The Red Dragons (2-2) scored the first 11 goals before holding off a second-half rally by visiting Utica (1-6) for a non-conference win at All College Field.
Scott Weiner and Matt Harvey each finished with two goals and an assist for O-State, which received to more goals from Pete Glass and held an 11-1 halftime lead.
Freshman Ryan Schmidt snapped Oneonta's run by scoring for Utica with 2:40 to play in the opening half.
Utica followed with back-to-back goals in the third period before Tyler Dunne scored what proved to be the decisive goal. The Pioneers closed the third period with two goals and pulled to within 12-7 with two more in the first 1:37 of the final quarter.
Oneonta answered with consecutive goals before Utica closed on a 4-0 run. Each team played two goalies and finished with 12 saves.
The Red Dragons visit SUNY Maritime at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
