Jenna Rudnitsky’s goal midway through the second half gave visiting Unadilla Valley a 1-0 Midstate Athletic Conference girls soccer victory over Delhi on Friday.
UV (9-3-1) moved into a first-place tie with Unatego and Sidney atop the MAC standings. Unatego defeated Oxford, 1-0, and Sidney downed Walton, 2-0, Friday. UV and Unatego are 6-2-1 in conference and Sidney is 5-1-3. Delhi and Greene are in second place with 6-3 records.
Jessica Lorence set up Rudnitsky’s goal. After a scramble in front of the net, Rudnitsky hit a hard shot into the top right-corner of the goal with 25 minutes left in the first half.
UV goalie Emily Sugar had five saves as did counterpart Christin Salerno.
Delhi (7-5) plays at Unatego on Tuesday.

Kalynn Birdsall became the 12th Unatego player to score this season, leading the Spartans to a Midstate Athletic Conference victory at home.
Birdsall controlled a rebound and dribbled into the box before shooting a low shot past Oxford goalie Haley Witchella with 8:43 left.
"If you look at the whole season, we have a very wide spread of players who have scored," said Unatego coach Sue Herodes, whose team is 9-2-1 overall and 6-2-1 in the MAC. "We don’t have one person. We’ve been spreading the wealth."
Unatego plays host to Delhi on Tuesday. The Bulldogs defeated Unatego, 2-0, earlier this season.

Initially, Laurens cleared a corner kick, but Raquel Orelowitz played back into the box, where Sickler touched it once on the right corner of the penalty box before scoring inside the far post.

Ryan Gracy scored two first-half goals and Aaron Gallusser had three goals in the second half to lead host Oneonta in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference.
Alex VanDeusen set up Gracy’s first goal with 21:43 left in the first half. Jacob Joseph had the assist on Gracy’s second goal, which gave the Yellowjackets a 2-0 lead with 10:42 left in the half.
Junior Alex Miller scored his first varsity goal and classmate Aidan Macdonald had his first varsity assist for OHS (7-5, 5-5), which plays at Owego on Tuesday.

Ryan Huggins converted a penalty kick with 4 1/2 minutes remaining to restore Cooperstown’s two-goal lead as the host Redskins won in the Center State Conference.
Cooperstown (10-1, 8-0) clinched a tie for the CSC Division II title.
Huggins’ penalty kick came after Chris Gulotta (two assists) was taken down in the box.
Cooperstown coach Frank Miosek said senior halfback Quinn Snyder re-injured his groin in the first half and is unlikely to play at 4 p.m. Saturday, when the Redskins (10-1, 8-0) travel to Davenport.
Nick Summers, Bobby Bauer and Ryan Davine also scored for Cooperstown.

Trevor Kosturock and Jeremy Ruteledge combined on the shutout for the Wildcats, who host Monticello at 9 a.m. Saturday at the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Milford follows with a key game Monday against once-beaten Cherry Valley-Springfield (9-1, 5-1), which leads the Wildcats by a half-game in the Tri-Valley’s East Division.
"Monday’s our championship game, more or less," said Milford coach Frank Spurchise, whose team will host Monday’s game. "If we win, we’ll be tied (in league losses) and we both have Edmeston left."

Quarterback Mason Wyman rushed for two second-quarter touchdowns and threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Jay Lloyd in the same quarter as visiting Unadilla Valley/Edmeston rallied from a first quarter deficit.
Wyman’s pass to Lloyd was his only completion of the game, as the Storm (2-3) rushed for a season-high 290 rushing yards. Tom Giordano led the way with 95 yards and three touchdowns.
UV/E will host Southern Springs on Oct. 6.
