Suffice to say, Colin Eustis and Amanda LoPiccolo enjoy triumphant finishes to their years.
On Saturday, they closed out 2011 in convincing fashion as the area graduates won the Frostbite 5K road race in Oneonta by comfortable margins.
Delhi graduate Eustis, who lives in Washington, D.C., earned his third straight Frostbite title and crossed first for the fourth time in five years.
LoPiccolo, a Unatego graduate, won the women's title for the fourth year in a row and the 11th time overall. The Frostbite 5K is in its 14th year.
The 22-year-old Eustis, who ran in college for Division I American University, finished the 3.1-mile course in 15 minutes, 51.0 seconds. Oneonta's Michael Hamilton was second in 16:48.9. Eustis' time was well off the course record of 15:08.4 he set two years ago.
LoPiccolo, 29, finished third overall in 17:34.4 _ about 22 seconds off the course record she set in 2007.
Oneonta's Beth Gollin was the second woman to cross. She finished 10th overall in 19:35.7.
Women grabbed four of the top 12 spots as Yvette deBoer and Otego teen Jerry Murello finished 11th and 12th, respectively. DeBoer crossed in 19:49.0 and Murello finished in 19:49.9.
Five runners broke 18 minutes, including Edmeston's Zack Dockstader (17:39.7) and Raleigh, N.C.'s Ryan Laytham (17:54.0).
A total of 252 people completed the race.
