Two games into her senior season and Edmeston's Kori Hamm already has six goals.
Hamm, The Daily Star's Player of the Year and co-Class D state Player of the Year in 2008, scored three goals to lead the host Panthers to a 4-0 Tri-Valley League girls soccer victory over Franklin on Tuesday.
A season ago, Hamm had an area-best 42 goals in leading Edmeston to a share of the Class D state championship with S.S. Seward after the teams played to a 2-2 tie in the final.
Hamm, who also had three goals in Edmeston's season-opening, 4-0, victory over Gilbertsville-Mount Upton on Sept. 2, opened the scoring midway through the first half. She powered a 25-yard shot through the hands of Franklin goalie Haley Downin (12 saves). Early in the second half, Morgan Axtell sent a pass to the speedy Hamm around midfield and Hamm converted a breakaway to make it 2-0.
Tonya Brownell's goal midway through the second half made it 3-0 and Hamm capped the scoring with about 15 minutes left.
"Not too bad," Edmeston coach Melanie Mumbulo said of her team's 2-0 getaway. "We're still working some things out and moving people around."
The Panthers, who returned 13 players from 2008, extended their unbeaten streak that dates to last season to 26 games. They went 22-0-2 last season.
Edmeston, which received five saves from Susanna Johnson, travels to Laurens on Thursday.

The Indians' Lexi Hilliker snapped a scoreless tie with 7 minutes, 54 seconds left and teammate Courtney Malia converted a penalty kick 3 1/2 minutes later as visiting Oneonta High suffered its first loss in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference.
"They had more chances, but we had a couple of good ones," said OHS coach Jerry Mackey, whose team was outshot, 11-4. "On paper, Owego and Chenango Forks are the two best teams in our half of the league. We're disappointed, but now we'll regroup and get back to playing well."
Hilliker received a long pass out of the defensive end and took it down the field. She cut it back toward the middle before lofting a shot just over Yellowjackets keeper Emmalee Sloman.
Mackey said the penalty kick came after contact with a sea of players in the penalty box.
Sloman made eight saves _ four more than Owego's Brittany Rando.
"Emmalee had some great saves in the first half," Mackey said. "It could have easily been 2-0 at halftime."
Oneonta's best chance came on a corner kick by Katie Bredin in the first half. It found the head of Oneonta player and went just wide.
The Yellowjackets (2-1, 2-1) play host to Johnson City on Thursday.

Amanda Flint scored the winning goal with 5 minutes, 35 seconds left to lift host Morris in the Tri-Valley League.
Flint's shot from outside the 18-yard penalty box snapped a 1-all tie.
Morris opened the scoring with 11 minutes in the first half, when Flint set up Emily Leboffe's goal.
Calli Hill tied it for Gilbertsville-Mount Upton four seconds before halftime. Hill scored on a direct kick.
Victoria Hulse made nine saves for Morris (1-1), which travels to Franklin on Friday.
