Cullen Beauregard and C.J. Smith combined for seven RBIs on Thursday, leading Cooperstown to a 12-10 Legion baseball victory over visiting Sidney at Cherry Valley-Springfield.
Beauregard went 3-for-4 with four RBIs for Cooperstown, which earned its first win of the season.
"He had a nice game," said Cooperstown coach Ed Dubben, who had Beauregard on his Cherry Valley-Springfield roster this past high school season. "He hit the ball hard."
Smith highlighted his 2-for-4 effort with a bases-loaded double that plated three of Cooperstown's four runs in the sixth.
Ethan Bliss and Jarrett Hotaling also had two hits apiece for Cooperstown (1-3-1), which scored three times in the sixth to take a 12-6 lead.
Sam Dubben earned the pitching victory in relief. He took over for starter Ethan Bliss with one out and runners at first and second in the fifth. Sam Dubben got out of the jam with a strikeout and a forceout at second on a grounder to the second baseman.
Matt Vogel had three singles for Sidney, which got a two-run homer from Travis Woods in the seventh.
Cooperstown visits Harpursville today.
