at Windham

Aidan Cohane and Lisa Davis won the slalom and giant slalom races for their respective genders as Windham cruised to a team sweep in a Section Four Alpine Ski event at Windham Mountain on Friday.

Cohane won the slalom in 34.09 seconds, helping the Warriors to a total of 107.96 for first place. His 25.87 in the giant slalom highlighted Windham's top total of 81.17.

Davis placed first in 36.17 to win the slalom for Windham's girls, who won the team title with 120.15. She also won the giant slalom in 27.52, helping the Warriors to first place at 84.84.

Belleayre Mountain will host the next Section Four event Wednesday.

MAC Championships

Walton teammates Walter Bartlett and J.T. Smith rolled the top two series of Thursday's Midstate Athletic Conference championships at Sunset Lanes in Kirkwood, but Hancock finished with a pinfall of 2,872 to earn the boys team title.

Bartlett finished with a 639 to earn an award for the most pins over average (159). Smith's 628 series included a 247 game, which marked the third-highest of the tournament.

Sidney's Bryant Gray tied Zach Newman of Bainbridge-Guilford for the third-best series, at 624. Newman helped the Bobcats to a second-place team finish, with 2,821 pins.

Hancock's Patrick O'Boyle rolled a 254 for the high game, followed by a 251 from Oxford's Adam Pierson.

Kim Beckwith's 499 series led Greene to the girls team title, with 2,063 pins.

Hancock's Ali Vivdor finished second in the series standings with a 475 and Marina Mazzarella had a 470 for Sidney, which placed second as a team with 1,966 pins.

Nicole Head of Oxford had a 205 for the high game. Hancock's Caitlin Slatcher and Beckwith tied for the second-best game with 187s, and Walton's Colleen Beers matched Mazzarella at 181.

Jade Falzone from Deposit won the girls most pins over average award (129).
