---- — Oneonta planners will consider a Hartwick College project during a meeting at City Hall at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Steve Hugo, of HOLT Architects in Ithaca, representing Hartwick College, will meet with the Oneonta Planning Commission to discuss what type of drawings the applicant must submit for a zoning code review of the project. The college is in a “University District.’’
Hartwick College plans to build a 7,300-square-foot addition to its Dewar Student Union and to renovate Stack Lounge, part of the existing first floor of the student union, according to plans submitted to the city.
Construction is to start in January, with substantial completion and an opening set for October, according to the college’s documents.
The proposed Campbell Fitness Center would be on the east side of Dewar Student Union, the college’s application said, and because of the slope at the site, the addition is to be 18 feet below the first floor of the union. A roof terrace will be at the first floor level of the union, the application said.
