Catskills group wants ideas for slogan contest

The Catskill Park Resource Foundation will award a $1,500 prize in August to the winner of a contest to select a descriptive tag line for the Catskill Mountain region. The winning slogan will be used in an advertising and promotional campaign to attract people to the region.

The Catskill Park Resource Foundation, formed to help re-brand the Catskills, will be marshalling resources to mount a $5 million promotional campaign, professionally designed and placed to guarantee the highest possible visibility. But the CPR decided to reach out to that public to help define the region.

Submissions will be taken online at www.cprandco.org/Contest through July 16. People can enter the contest as often as they wish; if two or more people enter the same slogan, the first one entered will be considered by the judges.

On July 16, CPR will compile a list of all suggestions submitted and have them reviewed by a judging panel. The judges will choose the top five slogan entries as finalists and announce them in a media conference by July 27. CPR will then invite the public to vote, electronically, for their favorites.

The entry with the most votes will win. Each voter must enter an active email address to vote and may vote just once per email address.

The winning slogan will be announced Aug. 25 at Belleayre Mountain Ski Center's Comedy in the Catskills performance, featuring Susie Essman. The winner will be presented with a check for $1,500. For more information, got to www.cprandco.org/Contest. For updates, follow CPR on Facebook or Twitter.
