The parents of a 2-month-old infant were arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
The arrest of Edward H. Oefelein, 24, and Barbara J. Kuloszewski, 21, of Burlington, comes more than a month after their child was taken to Bassett Medical Center for treatment of severe head trauma, according to state police.
The child was treated at Bassett on June 3, troopers said.
Oefelein and Kuloszewski were arraigned in Richfield Town Court and sent to Otsego County jail on $5,000 bail to await further court action.
