The 10th annual Relay For Life of Oneonta will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at Fortin Park on Youngs Road in the town of Oneonta.
Relay For Life is an overnight celebration to benefit the American Cancer Society and to raise awareness about cancer. During Relay, teams walk or run around a track throughout the night. Pledges are taken before the event, with the proceeds to benefit ACS.
The theme this year is "A Decade of Gaming for a Cure." Teams will have their sites decorated with their favorite game in mind.
The program starts at 6 p.m. Saturday. The survivors will take the first lap of the event, followed by the caregivers and an-all team lap. Survivors and a guest will then be served a dinner put on by Hannaford Supermarket. A luminaria ceremony at 9:30 p.m. will honor survivors and those who have died.
There will be a DJ, music, entertainment and activities all night long. Teams will be selling food and raffle tickets throughout the night.
