Day of yoga to benefit Milford charity Sunday

A Sunday event in Milford will benefit Yoga Aid Day, an organizer said.

A variety of yoga and meditation classes will take place from 8 a.m. to at least 4:45 p.m. at the Upper Susquehanna Cultural Center on Main Street in Milford. Katherine Walters said she and five other certified yoga instructors will be offering free classes during the day. Donations are accepted. The schedule is still being finalized.

“It’s a way to give back to the community,” she said. “It provides an easy and fun way for people to be exposed to the joy of yoga with very little commitment.” Whatever the level of experience, she said, there will be something for everyone to explore.

The international Yoga Aid began in 2006, as a way to raise money for charity and share the joys of yoga, according the events website — www.yogaaid.com. Since it began, more than $1.2 million has been raised for charities around the world.
