One man remained hospitalized and another jailed Wednesday after a fight earlier this month, Chenango County deputies said.
Michael C. Thiel, 38, of Otselic, was charged May 22 with second-degree assault, a felony, after a fight outside the American Legion in South Otselic, Chenango Couynty Det. Kevin Powell said Wednesday.
The injured man, a 57-year-old Plymouth resident whose identity was withheld by deputies, had facial fractures and possibly will have additional surgery, Powell said. A Mercy Flight helicopter took the man from near the incident scene to University Hospital in Syracuse, where he remained in serious condition Wednesday, the detective said.
The men had been at the American Legion and "went outside to discuss things," Powell said, but further details weren't available.
