Walton police nab three after drug investigation

Three people face felony drug prosecution as the result of a six-month investigation into the illegal sale of narcotics in the Walton, a media release from village police said Monday.

The Walton Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit, with assistance from Delaware County Sheriff's Drug Enforcement Unit and the Delaware County District Attorney's Office, conducted the investigation, which led to arrests on sealed indictments of:

"¢ Cheryle B. Askerzadah, three counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, felonies. She also was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

"¢ Benjamin C. Ildefonso, three counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

"¢ Robert J. Price, three counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. He also was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and having a blood alcohol content of more than .08.

The three defendants were sent to Delaware County jail without bail, pending appearances in Delaware County Court.

As a result of the arrests, Michael S. Hartley was charged on a parole violation and was sent to Delaware County jail without bail, pending action by state parole authorities, the release said.
