Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Dr. Brent Ridge of Sharon Springs, also known as the Beekman Boys, are the grand prize winners of the 2012 season of “The Amazing Race.”
The couple were crowned the winners of the 11th season of the CBS reality television show on Sunday night, earning them a $1 million grand prize.
The finale saw Purcell, Ridge and three other two-person teams travel from Barcelona, Spain, to the Loire River valley in France for the first “leg” of the finale, followed by a series of challenges in New York City.
The couple, who plan to be married in 2013, are authors of “The Bucolic Plague,” an autobiographical account of their experiences restoring a historic Sharon Springs property, and “The Beekman 1802 Heirloom Cookbook.”
