Two people riding on a motorcycle died Sunday when a car traveling north on state Route 12 made a left-hand turn in front of them, Chenango County deputies said. The names of the victims were not released pending notification of family.
The accident occurred at about 6:15 p.m. when the car being driven by Judi Kenyon turned onto county Route 3A in the town of Greene, deputies said. The motorcycle, which was traveling south, ran into Kenyon’s vehicle.
The two motorcycle riders were pronounced dead at the scene. Kenyon was transported to Lourdes Hospital by the Greene Emergency Squad.
Deputies are assisted by the Greene and Brisben Fire departments along with the state Department of Transportation.
