The Daily Star — An Arkville woman won a contest to rebrand the Catskills with a new slogan.
Jenn Nolan coined the slogan “The Catskills, Always in Season,” to win the contest launched in June by the Catskill Park Resource Foundation.
The winner of the “Capture the Catskills” slogan contest was announced Saturday at the Belleayre Music Festival.
According to The Associated Press, the idea behind the contest was to create a catchy tagline that “reflects the natural, recreational, historic and community treasures of the region.”
The contest tallied online votes to pick the winning phrase.
The Foundation said 733 votes were cast, with Nolan’s slogan earning the highest number of votes.
The Catskills were once nicknamed the Borscht Belt because of its numerous resorts popular with New York City Jewish clientele.
