Two charged with growing marijuana
Two Otego residents were charged with illegally growing marijuana.
John M. Ianniello, 48, and Levi S. Cole, 17, both of Haney Road, were charged July 13 with unlawfully growing cannabis, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a media release from Otsego County deputies said.
Marijuana was located in the bedrooms of Ianniello and Cole, deputies said, and a mature marijuana plant was located growing behind the residence.
Ianniello and Cole were issued tickets to appear in Otego Town Court at a later date, and if convicted, face up to a year in jail, deputies said.
Deputies were assisted in their investigation by the Oneonta Police Department, Utica parole officers from the state Department of Community Supervision and a state police canine narcotic detection team, which searched 188 Haney Road.
