SUNY Oneonta will hold its inaugural Global Movement Festival from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Hunt Union Ballroom. Admission is free, and members of the community are invited to attend.
Hosted by the college’s World Percussion Ensemble and the Multicultural Student Council, the festival is expected to become an annual event. It will include music by the college’s Balinese Gamelan Ensemble, featuring instruments provided by Hartwick College; performances of folk dances from around the world; international food; an international fashion show; poetry and a SUNY Oneonta multicultural student club expo.
Admission is free, and food tickets can be purchased with a donation of $3 or a non-food item for the Riverside Elementary School Food Pantry. (Non-food items can include: shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, Q-tips, hair brushes/combs, lip balm, band aids, thermometer, feminine hygiene products, tissues, baby wipes, moisturizer/lotion, washcloths, blankets, flashlight, batteries, pens, pencils, crayons, looseleaf paper, etc.)
