Oneonta man faces rape charges

An Oneonta man has been charged with rape, city police said.

John Randall, 43, was charged Oct. 30 with first-degree rape and second-degree burglary, felonies, and unlawful imprisonment, police said.

Randall was arraigned in Oneonta City Court and sent to Otsego County jail, where officials said Monday he remains held on $5,000 bail.

Oneonta police said Randall is accused of going into the home of an acquaintance, restraining her and raping her in late August or early September. Randall was arrested after an investigation by detectives.
