A defendant in a robbery case was released from jail Thursday, an Oneonta City Court official said.
Jacklyn C. Souza, 19, of Davenport, appeared Thursday in city court with Tracy Laughlin, her court-appointed attorney, before Judge Lucy Bernier, the official said, and Souza was released on recognizance.
Souza, who had been arrested by city police Sunday, had been held in Otsego County jail on $5,000 cash bail and $10,000 bond, the court official said, and she is to reappear in court Oct. 2.
The bail amount, a warrant reference and the victim’s age were incorrect in a previous article about the case because of incorrect information provided by city police.
Souza, her husband, Jesse M. Souza, 22, and Jennifer Lorette, 21, of Worcester, were arrested earlier this month on robbery and conspiracy charges after they were accused of robbing a 30-year-old woman of her purse and cell phone on Sept. 9, police said.
City police said they had no court-signed warrant for the Souzas but they issued a bulletin to other authorities stating they were looking for the couple, who were identified as passengers in a vehicle in Walton and held by village police there.
Jesse Souza, who was arrested Sunday, remains held in jail on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond bail, according to the court. His court-appointed attorney is Robert Gouldin and he is to reappear in court Monday.
Lorette, who was arrested Sept. 12, was appointed attorney Jack Gibbons by the court and is to reappear before the judge Oct. 9.
