Crash victim identified as N.J. brokerage president
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man who died Sunday in a car crash outside the hamlet of Downsville as George Swan, 53, of Ridgewood, N.J.
Swan was president of Swan & Dunn, a brokerage in Ridgewood, an upscale suburb of New York City.
Undersheriff Craig DuMond said Monday that Swan’s 2011 Lexus drifted out of the right lane on Route 206 and struck a parked trailer in a pullout lane. He said speed might have been a factor in the crash, which occurred along a fairly sharp bend in the road.
Swan was pronounced dead at the scene by Delaware County Medical Examiner, Richard Ucci. The accident remains under investigation, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.
