Woman pleads guilty to drug possession

COOPERSTOWN _ In state Supreme Court of Otsego County on Monday before Justice Michael Coccoma, Ashley M. Buzzy, 23, of Oneonta, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal possession of a criminal substance.

According to court records, the incident occurred April 24 in the city of Oneonta, and the substance was heroin.

Buzzy also was sentenced to 2½ years in prison with one year of post-release supervision.

She was assessed $375 in court fees and her driver's license was suspended.

Also in court Sept. 1 before Coccoma:

"¢ Bradly M. Falkenmeyer, 18, of Unadilla, pleaded innocent at arraignment to third-degree burglary.

According to court records, the incident occurred April 14, 2009, in Otego.

Bail was set at $5,000 in Otsego County, but Falkenmeyer is being held in the Chenango County Jail on another charge, according to court records.

He is due to return to state Supreme Court in Otsego County on Oct. 6.

"¢ James D. Weaver Jr., 38, of New Berlin, pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated.

According to court records, the incident occurred March 14 in Pittsfield.

Weaver was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 6.

In Otsego County Court on Aug. 27 before Judge Brian Burns, Erik M. Manchester, 27, of Worcester, was convicted at trial of second-degree assault.

According to court records, the incident occurred April 14, 2009.

According to the Otsego County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred when an East Worcester man came onto Manchester's property on Lum Road in Worcester, and Manchester shot him with a shotgun loaded with a birdshot-type round.

Manchester was jailed without bail and is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 24.
