---- — A 47-year-old Walton man faces a series of drug and weapons charges stemming from a one-car accident Tuesday in the town of Franklin.
Rafael L. Macken allegedly had a loaded, .22-caliber pistol, a silencer, a switchblade and metal knuckle knives, along with a number of controlled substances and a quantity of marijuana when Delaware County deputies, assisted by state police from Oneonta, searched his vehicle after the accident on Route 14, according to the sheriff’s office.
Macken was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor; criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony; criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, another class D felony; two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, both misdemeanors; unlawful possession of marijuana, and failure to keep right, the sheriff’s office said in a media release.
He was arraigned in Franklin Town Court and was remanded to Delaware County jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $25,000 bond.
