2. Personal attacks. Explicit name-calling.
3. Harassing, harmful, vulgar, obscene and defamatory language.
4. Threatening statements or statements that suggest violence.
5. Hate speech of any kind.
6. Intolerant comments on religion, race, age, gender, sexual preference or disabilities.
7. Accusations of criminal activity.
8. Content that is harmful to children and minors in any way.
9. References to any type of sexual activity and other private matters.
10. Random and inflammatory statements that are off topic.
11. Advertising of any kind.
12. Typing in all caps.

WE ENCOURAGE REASONABLE AND COURTEOUS COMMENTS THAT:

1. Create conversation on issues of interest and concern to fellow readers and local community members.
2. Express opinions and contrarian views.
3. Stimulate debate with respectful language.
4. Stay within the boundaries of these rules.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SUSPEND OR TERMINATE ACCESS FOR:

1. Violating any of these Online Rules of Conduct.
2. Deliberately disrupting discussions with repetitive messages, meaningless messages or spam.

Five cases heard in Delaware court

Recent cases heard in Delaware County Court include:

Dec. 13

• Devon Sawyer-Beers, 33, no address given, pleaded guilty to felony driving while intoxicated, a D felony. She was sentenced to 1 to 3 years in prison, three years of driving with an ignition interlock, six month’s suspension of driver’s license and $2,500 fine.

Dec. 17

• Jessica Shelton, 24, Sidney Center, was sentenced to six months probation following a Nov. 5 guilty plea for fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class D felony. Her driver’s license was suspended for six months.

• Christopher Schrier, 41, no address given, had his parole modified to include 60 hours of community service. He was originally convicted in Orange County on second-degree grand larceny.

• Steven Oddo, 45, Fishs Eddy, pleaded guilty to third-degree robbery, a class D felony. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 28.

• Eric Black, 25, Walton, was sentenced on a charge third-degree burglary to 1 to 3 years in prison. He pleaded guilty Nov. 19. His sentence also included issuance of a five-year order of protection for the victim, and was ordered to pay restitution of $7,300.
