Cyclist killed in collision

David A. Klingman of Sherburne was killed Saturday in North Norwich when the motorcycle he was riding collided with an oncoming car, according to a media release sent out Monday morning by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the release, Klingman, 38, was driving north on state Route 12 at about 6:45 p.m. Saturday when he crossed the center line and struck a sedan. Klingman was pronounced dead at the scene by the county medical examiner. Deputies said that Klingman, who was wearing a helmet, died of head trauma. It was not known how fast he was going at the time, or why his motorcycle crossed over the line.

The driver of the car, Allen Marsters of Sherburne, and his passenger, Joyce Post, were not injured, according to the report.
