Springfield man pleads guilty to burglary
A Springfield man was sentenced Feb. 15 in Otsego County Court, following a guilty plea last month on a burglary case, court officials said.
Jesse J. Miller was sentenced to six years in jail and five years of post-release supervision following his Jan. 30 second-degree burglary guilty plea. He was ordered to pay $10,000 restitution, as well as $1,000 fine and court fees. The incident occurred Feb. 23, 2011, in the town of Springfield.
Delhi man arrested on felony charge
A Delhi man was arrested Thursday on a felony charge, Delaware County deputies said.
Thomas Kern, 34, was charged with offering a false instrument for filing, a felony, and fifth-degree welfare fraud, a misdemeanor, after being accused of receiving $666 in food stamps to which he wasn't entitled, deputies said in a media release.
He was arraigned in Colchester court and released on recognizance, pending a later appearance in Delhi court.
Walton man sentenced for trespassing, theft
The following case was heard recently in Delaware Country Court:
"¢ Cain Wlasiuk, 20, Walton, pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal trespass and petit larceny. He was sentenced to three years' probation and ordered to pay restitution of $1,335 in the case, which stemmed from July events.
