Main Street Oneonta seeks donations for its 11th annual auction to raise money for events such as Santa's visit and other holiday and promotional programs.
The auction will be at Foothills Performing Arts and Civic Center, 24 Market St., on Saturday, Oct. 16. A preview and Ultimate Idol performances will be at 5 p.m., and the auction will start at 5:30 p.m.
Kevin Herrick is the featured auctioneer at the event, which ends at 8 p.m., a media release said.

Auction items may include locally produced foods and beverages; dining and shopping gift certificates; and handcrafted jewelry, pottery and more.
Auction proceeds underwrite free family-oriented community events held downtown, including Fabulous First Fridays, sidewalk sales, sponsorship of the gingerbread house contest and more.
Ioxus acquires firm
Ioxus Inc. of Oneonta has acquired Advanced Energy Conversion of Schenectady for undisclosed terms.
Ioxus is a manufacturer of ultracapacitor technologies for military, transportation and alternative energy markets, and AEC specializes in energy conversion systems, a Sept. 27 media release from Ioxus said. Ioxus will incorporate AEC products into its offerings to deliver energy-efficient systems solutions for hybrid electric vehicles, wind-pitch control and other energy-storage applications.
Ioxus, which worked with AEC on several projects before the acquisition, plans to expand AEC's 12-member staff, the release said. For more than 10 years, AEC designed, tested and produced electronic power converters, embedded control systems and electric machines for customers including John Deere, General Motors, American Electric Power, the Department of the Navy and the Air Force Research Laboratory.
Ioxus, on Winney Hill Road in Oneonta, was established by its affiliate company, Custom Electronics Inc., which has supplied commercial and military clients with capacitors and integrated electronic assemblies since 1964.
Otsego IDA to meet
The Otsego County Industrial Development Agency will meet for its regular monthly meeting in the county office building at 242 Main St., Oneonta, at 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
The agenda includes general business, county Economic Developer Carolyn Lewis said.
Dealership will host Business After Hours
The Benedict Corp. will host a Commerce Chenango Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. today.
The automobile dealership is at the corner of East River Road and state Route 23 in Norwich.
The Benedict Corp. is owned and operated by Noel "Trip" deCordova III, who began his tenure at Benedict in 1980 and became owner in 1995. The firm is celebrating 105 years in business.
